HARTFORD, CT. — Under crisp autumn skies on Saturday morning, nearly 11,000 runners, 2,500 volunteers, and tens of thousands of spectators descended upon downtown Hartford for the 33rd annual Eversource Hartford Marathon, Half Marathon, Team Relay, and Charity 5K.
The flagship event transformed the capital region into a festive showcase of endurance and community spirit, bringing an estimated $14 million economic surge to the local economy while raising vital funds for 28 official charities.

Debut Dominance and Repeat Victory in Main Event

In the men's marathon division, 28-year-old Conor Lundy of Bronxville, N.Y., stole the show by taking victory in his marathon debut. Lundy crossed the finish line beneath the iconic Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch in Bushnell Park with an impressive time of 2:17:39. Claudio Rocha of Peabody, Mass., followed closely in second place at 2:18:00, while Manchester’s Mark Hegarty took third in 2:18:40.
On the women’s side, Providence native Rachel Schilkowsky, 34, successfully defended her title, capturing her second consecutive victory (and third total victory in Hartford, following her 2:38 finish in 2018) with a standard-setting time of 2:33:54. Middletown resident Mira Records claimed second place in 2:38:52, with Karen Bertasso rounding out the top three in 2:43:53.
"The energy along the course and through the neighborhoods was unmatched today," said race organizers following the event. "From elite athletes chasing personal records to first-timers crossing the finish under the arch, Hartford showed up in full force."
