Band Debuts Crushing Single "Atonement" Ahead of Fall Tour
Independent record label UNFD has announced the official signing of Fremont, Ohio’s fearlessly heavy metalcore outfit Convictions.
Marking their debut under the UNFD banner, the band has premiered a bone-rattling new single titled "Atonement,"accompanied by a raw, visually gripping music video.
"Aggressive Worship" and Hard-Won Redemption
Hailing from northwest Ohio, Convictions have carved out a distinct identity in heavy music under the self-defined mantle of "Aggressive Worship." Subverting traditional Christian band tropes, the group merges blistering breakdowns and atmospheric technicality with an uncompromising lyrical focus on addiction, mental health, spiritual crisis, and the darker corners of the human condition.
Their catalog has previously earned international recognition, chart appearances on Billboard, and multiple Grizzly Awards. "Atonement" deepens that legacy, confronting personal sacrifice, emotional scars, and the resolve to stay true to one's principles:
"‘Atonement’ is about coming to terms with the sacrifices we’ve made, the weight of our decisions, and the scars we’ve collected along the way," the band shared in a statement. "It’s about accepting the cost of holding on to faith, pursuing our purpose, and continuing this journey through music despite the hardships. There’s even a moment in the song where we reference our own band name, Convictions, as a declaration of who we are and what we stand for. Ultimately, it’s about taking ownership of our journey, making peace with the path we’ve chosen, and remaining unwavering in our convictions."
