The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's ice hockey team and first-year head coach Adam Houli have officially announced the program's schedule for its inaugural 2026–27 season.

Highlighting the Blue Jays' 25-game regular-season slate are 10 home contests inside their home rink, the International Skating Center of Connecticut (ISCC) in Simsbury, Conn.

Historic Program Opener and Fall Slate

USJ will hit the ice for the first time in program history on Friday, Oct. 30, when they host Johnson & Wales University at the ISCC. Puck drop for the landmark debut is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Following the opener, the Blue Jays embark on a six-game road trip beginning with a rematch against the Wildcats on Saturday, Oct. 31, in Pawtucket, R.I. The extended road swing continues with non-conference clashes against:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 4: UMass Dartmouth (New Bedford, Mass.)

  • Friday, Nov. 6: Manhattanville University (Rye, N.Y.)

  • Friday, Nov. 13: Wesleyan University (Middletown, Conn.)

  • Saturday, Nov. 14: Bowdoin College (Brunswick, Maine)

  • Tuesday, Nov. 17: Connecticut College (New London, Conn.)

USJ returns to Simsbury on Thursday, Nov. 19, for its inaugural Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) game against MCLA. The team caps the brief two-game homestand on Saturday, Nov. 21, against reigning national champion Hamilton College.

Winter Run into MASCAC Play

December features a mix of conference and intrastate action:

  • Thursday, Dec. 3: at Westfield State University (Westfield, Mass.)

  • Saturday, Dec. 5: vs. Fitchburg State University (ISCC)

  • Friday, Dec. 11: vs. Wesleyan University (ISCC)

Following the holiday recess, USJ returns to action on Sunday, Jan. 3, on the road against non-conference opponent WestConn in Danbury. The Blue Jays resume MASCAC play at Salem State University on Saturday, Jan. 9, host Rivier University on Saturday, Jan. 16, and complete their non-conference slate at Southern New Hampshire University on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

2027 MASCAC Tournament Format

The top six teams in the conference standings will advance to the postseason, which begins with first-round matchups on Thursday, Feb. 25.

  • The top two seeds earn automatic byes to the semifinals, while the third and fourth seeds host first-round games.

  • Semifinals are set for Saturday, Feb. 27, hosted by the top two seeds.

  • The 2027 MASCAC Championship game will be held on Saturday, March 6, at the home venue of the highest remaining seed.
